Staying and Thriving

Embracing the Journey

of your

Difficult Christian Marriage

You have chosen to stay. Now what?

Remember your choice!

You are not helpless and things are not hopeless even though your emotions and thoughts might be telling you otherwise.

Rest in the peace of your decision and stop cycling back every time there is another argument or problem that comes up. For us in difficult marriages, it is often the same problem, the same argument, the same frustration.

Meditate on His Words and allow them to give you courage and strength so you can thrive in your difficult marriage through the struggles and the pain. Let them refine you and encourage you and give you life!

Power in Prayer

Pray specific prayers to help you in your difficult Christian Marriage.

Pray for yourself! It is not a selfish thing at all to be in prayer that we might be transformed in our thinking, our emotional responses, and how we respond to the difficulties in our lives.

Pray we will honor God in our difficult marriages and that we will be refined by them.

Pray for our Husbands, pray that they will experience God's love, comfort and strength in their lives as well!

My husband sure appreciates this, he needs my prayers as your husband needs your prayers too.

Mindset

Did you know that the concept of mindset is thoroughly Christian? Yes, its true! We get to choose what we think and thinking rightly produces more positive emotions which in turn really helps us to respond and behave in a God honoring way, which without the proper mindset that is very hard to do.

I need to get my mindset correct daily, and the best way to do that is to meditate on the word of God, and repeat His words and concepts over and over to ourselves until our minds are set correctly.

Colossians 3:2 "Set your minds on things above, not on things on the earth"

About Me

Hi There!

I am a Christian wife and mother of 3. I work outside the home despite my desire to be home with my kids more often.

I have chosen to stay in a marriage that many would not. I am learning to thrive in my difficult marriage and make peace with the path I am on. Thriving without continually striving is in fact possible by leaning on my faith and seeking to honor God with the rest of my life, one day at a time. Humbly I know that I often fail, however as I continue to look to God for strength and provision I am reminded that this life is temporary, its not all there is, more is coming!

Applying God's truth to my life and letting it soak in is changing me a little at a time.

The goal is in fact not to change my spouse, nor my kids, nor my circumstances. Desiring to be transformed into a gracious person even with others who don't understand and to live with kindness and peace while not wishing my life away is possible.

If you can relate, stay tuned! The Staying and Thriving Course is being prayerfully designed to help my sisters in Christ who find themselves for whatever reason travelling a similar road.

My desire is to let God use even my life and my story to bring honor to Him and encouragement to you my sisters while pointing you to Him as the source of life.

Warmly yours,

Kathryn

Title: Flourishing in the Face of Adversity: Empowering Christian Women in Challenging Marriages

Dear Beloved Sisters,

Today, I want to share a message of hope and empowerment with the courageous women who find themselves navigating the complexities of difficult marriages within the context of their Christian faith. Despite the storms you may be weathering, it is indeed possible not just to survive but to thrive in the midst of adversity.

As Christian women, we are called to walk in faith, love, and grace, even when the path before us seems rocky and uncertain. It is during these challenging times that our resilience and strength truly shine, illuminating the way forward with unwavering determination and unwavering faith.

You see, thriving in a difficult marriage is not just a possibility – it's a powerful testimony to the transformative power of God's love and grace in our lives. It's a testament to our steadfast commitment to honor our vows, to cherish our spouses, and to seek the highest good for our families, even when the journey feels arduous.

But how do we cultivate this resilience? How do we tap into the wellspring of strength that lies within us, even amidst the storm?

First and foremost, it begins with a deep-rooted faith in God's faithfulness and provision. Trusting in His sovereignty and His perfect plan for our lives, we can find solace and strength in His promises, knowing that He is with us in every trial and tribulation.

Secondly, it's about embracing a mindset of gratitude and hope, shifting our focus from what is lacking to what is present, we can cultivate a spirit of thankfulness that nourishes our souls and sustains us through life.

Additionally, it's essential to prioritize self-care and personal growth, investing in our own well-being and development so that we may show up as our best selves in our marriages and in every other area of our lives.

And finally, it's about fostering a community of support and encouragement, surrounding ourselves with fellow believers who can walk alongside us in our journey, offering prayers, wisdom, and solidarity every step of the way.

Dear sisters, as you navigate the challenges of your marriages, I want you to know that you are not alone. You are seen, you are valued, and you are loved beyond measure by a God who delights in you and who holds you in the palm of His hand.

May you find strength in His presence, courage in His promises, and hope in His unfailing love, knowing that through Him, all things are possible – even thriving in the midst of adversity.

With love,

Kathryn
